Do you participate in a community garden? It might be a garden club that cares for plantings around a community center or one that plants and waters hanging baskets in your downtown. Maybe yours is a garden that provides garden plots for folks who don’t have enough space to garden at their homes. Perhaps it’s a combination—a place where people get together to grow food and flowers and inspire each other. Or, it might be a school garden or a plant society.
Whatever your group, we want to put it on the map! MSHS is embarking on a new project to create a digital map of all the gardening activities in the state: garden clubs, plant societies, school gardens, community gardens. The map will help new gardeners find others who share their passion, and will help our members find garden resources near them. The map will also include our discount partners (nurseries and specialty shops) and other partners and supporters of horticulture in Minnesota.
To be listed in the garden map, all you have to do is send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know about your group, what you do and where you are located. It may take us awhile to get the map completed, but like many aspects of gardening, a little patience leads to good results.
