Join us this Saturday for a festive holiday open house where you can learn how to create a gorgeous holiday container as well as shop for gifts for all the gardeners on your list. The annual MSHS Holiday Open House will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at our offices at 2705 Lincoln Drive in Roseville.
A free demonstration on how to create an evergreen container for the holidays will be held at 10 a.m. The demo will feature Mark Armstead, Beisswenger’s Lawn and Garden Expert, and Dan Wentzel, Visual Display Coordinator with New Uses General Store and Landscape Designer for the City of Roseville. They will each design an evergreen container in their own unique style; they are former co-workers at Linder’s Garden Center, so it should be entertaining to hear their banter as they design the containers.
MSHS will also have special vendors selling holiday merchandise and gifts during the open house: Molly’s Gardens with distinctive, natural designs for seasonal decorating, including: centerpieces, garlands and wreaths; The Flower and the Bee with handcrafted soaps; and Mary Prokopiak with handmade jewelry.
Plus, MSHS will be selling great merchandise for the holidays, including Minnesota-made products—like Jules Loft Edible Garden Art Organic Wild Bird Feeders—and gifts for gardeners; MSHS will be selling discounted gift memberships to the society and subscriptions to its award-winning magazine Northern Gardener—perfect gifts for aspiring or experienced gardeners alike. You’ll receive $5.00 off, the November/December magazine issue free as a bonus and a gift tote bag. You can also sign up for MSHS’ annual spring fundraising event, the Spring Garden Gala, while you’re there shopping. MSHS’ annual used gardening book sale fundraiser will start during the open house too.
In addition to the holiday open house, MSHS will be open more Saturdays in December for special shopping hours: Saturday, Dec. 10 and 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All purchases support MSHS’ mission to serve northern gardeners through education, encouragement and community.
We hope to see you at the holiday open house!
