Open House: Fun for Gardeners, Foodies and Decorators

bowThe MSHS Bookstore and office will be full of fun for gardeners, foodies and decorators tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 7) as MSHS hosts its annual Holiday Open House. The event includes presentations by local designer Mary Beth Gullickson and cookbook author Beth Dooley.

The doors open at 9 a.m. MSHS is located two blocks north of County Road C on Lincoln Drive (it runs parallel to Snelling Avenue.) If you are going to be at Rosedale Center anyway, we’re located just a mile or so north of there.

At 11 a.m. Mary Beth Gullickson, master designer, with Cedar Brook of New Prague will do a demonstration on “Wreath Decorating Trends for Your Holiday Home.” You’re sure to leave with lots of ideas for how to make your house warm and inviting this season.

Nothing makes a home more enticing than the smell of good food. At 1 p.m., Beth Dooley will do a presentation and book signing for her newest book, Minnesota’s Bounty. The book is a user’s guide to shopping and cooking from your local farmer’s market, and it applies a practical, easy approach to creating a truly seasonal kitchen. Beth’s a well-known local food writer and the author of several great cookbooks, including The Northern Heartland Cookbook.

In addition to the presentations, we’ll have vendors with holiday merchandise, in-store specials, a sale of used gardening books and complimentary coffee, cookies and hot apple cider. Please stop by!
