To celebrate the 150th anniversary of MSHS this year, one of our projects has been the creation of pollinator plant packs. These groups of plants will be sold for a limited time in local nurseries and are just the thing to make your garden — no matter what the size — a pollinator magnet.

Each pack has 6 different plants perfect for the type of pollinator garden you want.

• For Monarchs: Butterfly Milkweed, Common Milkweed, Swamp Milkweed, Whorled Milkweed, Showy Milkweed, Sullivant’s Milkweed
• For Bees: Canada Milkvetch, Foxglove Beardtongue, Wild Blue Indigo, Anise Hyssop, Prairie Smoke, Wild Petunia
• For Butterflies: Blue Lupine, Dotted Blazingstar, Marsh Blazingstar, Button Blazingstar, Meadow Blazingstar, Prairie Blazingstar

The plants were grown by Glacial Ridge Growers, which is is known for growing quality natives, annuals, perennials, heirloom tomatoes, vegetables, strawberries, and herbs. They come in special packaging with a carrying band that is black-and-white striped (like a bee) on the side and has Minnesota Horticultural Society written across the top.
