Late Summer Garden at Minnesota State Fair

The late summer plants, such as swamp milkweed attract lots of bees and other pollinators to the garden.

Be sure to visit the MSHS display garden at the Minnesota State Fair, which opens Thursday. We will have our educational and retail booths in the Horticulture Building and our display garden right out front near the corner of Underwood and Judson Avenue. This gorgeous late summer garden features native plants as well as nonnative, but hardy perennials. It’s cared for entirely by volunteers, who are often in the garden and available to answer questions about the plants and plant care. For a respite from the noise of the fair, this is a great place to stop.
