Hands-on Classes, Discounts and More at MSHS Holiday Open House

Holiday open houseYou’ll have a chance to make a holiday wreath or a holiday swag, purchase deeply discounted gift memberships in MSHS and browse garden-themed decor, books and T-shirts at the MSHS Holiday Open House to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, at our new office space at 1935 W. County Rd. B2 in Roseville. (The office is on the north side of County Rd. B2, just west of Rosedale Center.

Get Your Decor On!

We’ll have two opportunities for you to make your own holiday decor. Our friend Reba Berge from A Precious Petals Florist will be leading a holiday wreath-making class. Everyone gets their own wreath kit, but the embellishments make each wreath unique. The class begins at 9:30 and we’ll enjoy mimosas as we learn and craft. If you have them, bring your own wire cutter or ribbon scissors. Please register by Friday, Nov. 22, to take this class.

Holiday swag

Holiday swags can be embellished with natural materials, ribbons and more.

Jenn Hovland will be joining us from noon to 2:30 p.m., helping folks make a holiday swag. We did this last weekend at the Holiday Boutique at U.S. Bank Stadium and it was a huge success. The swag project costs only $25. Check out this video of Jenn demonstrating how it is done. There will be lots of ribbon and bling to make your wreath unique.

Best Deal EVER on Gift Memberships

During the open house, we will be offering our best deal ever on gift memberships and subscriptions to Northern Gardener—$15 off the usual price. A membership in MSHS will be only $47 during the sale and gift subscriptions to Northern Gardener magazine will be only $19. Here’s the fine print: You must purchase the gift IN PERSON at the open house. It must be a GIFT (no renewals). This is ONE-DAY ONLY. You’ll also receive a tote bag and the November-December issue of Northern Gardener for the lucky recipient to unwrap.

Shopping Opportunities

For the open house, we have stocked up on some of our very popular T-shirts from the Minnesota State Fair. We’ll also have garden snips (a great stocking stuffer), garden books, tools and other gifts for your favorite gardeners. Northern Gardener editor Mary Schier will be at the open house selling and signing copies of her book, The Northern Gardener: From Apples to Zinnias.

We’ll also be joined by Fierce Mally, a wildly fun maker of cards, mugs and fabric pouches. You’ll love her fun take on the world. Wonder & Twine, the handmade work of artist Bethany Meyer, will also be there with signs and other home decor.

Take a break from the mall and join us for treats and creative fun.
