MSHS has hosted “Gardening Gals Get-Togethers” during the holiday season for several years and these are popular events where women enjoy wine, hors d’oeurves and a chance to get creative. This year, we’ll be holding a Gardening Gals Get-Together for fall, beginning at 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, at MSHS, 2705 Lincoln Drive in Roseville.

These are fun events to do with your sisters, your mom or a group of friends. Next Thursday, the event will include a chance to create a small fall arrangement with fall decorating ideas and instruction from master designer Mary Beth Gullickson of Cedar Brook Garden Center in New Prague. You’ll also have a chance to sample wines from The Cellars Wines and Spirits, try organic apples from Elm Tree Farm and honeys from Honey Hill Farms. Locust Lane Vineyard will also be there with samples of products made with verjus, an alternative to vinegar and lemon juice.

Of course, the MSHS book and gift shop will be open, with lots of great products for the gardeners in your life. Cost is $30 for MSHS members, $35 for nonmembers. Contact the society at 651-643-3601 to register.
