Thank You! Community Outreach Supporters

This article originally appeared in the September/October 2021 issue of Northern Gardener.

Our signature outreach programs, Minnesota Green and Garden in a Box, assist community gardeners and help children and underserved populations enjoy the benefits of gardening. We could not serve nearly as many people as we do without financial and in-kind support from many garden centers and groups. Thank you, all!

Garden-in-a-Box

We couldn’t have met this growing need without the help of many garden centers and greenhouses across the state, including;  Northland Landscape Nursery, Isanti; Schulte’s Greenhouse & Nursery, St. Michael; Green Lake Nursery, Spicer; Bloomers, Grand Rapids; Hill’s Country Greenhouse, Bemidji; All Season’s Garden Center, Grand Forks; Jean’s Right Plant Place, Perham; Souba’s Greenhouse & Garden Center, Owatonna; Super Fresh, Austin; Sargent’s on Second, Rochester; Sargent’s Nursery, Red Wing; Green Garden Place, Slayton; Holasek’s Flower Power Garden Center, Lester Prairie; and Redwood Falls Nursery, Redwood Falls. Together, we’re inspiring, educating and growing the next generation of gardeners.

Minnesota Green

During the first half of 2021, Minnesota Green participants received more than 55,000 plants. Community gardeners planted these annuals, perennials and shrubs in 225 public, school and church gardens managed by more than 118 different organizations in Minnesota.

Big thanks to 101 Market, Arden Hills Nursery, Cedarbrook Garden Center, Dundee Nursery, Green Barn Garden Center, Green Earth Growers, Hedberg Nursery, Hill’s Garden, Humble Pie Farms, K Squared Flowers, Medtronic, Minnesota Gardens, Friend’s School Plant Sale, Otten Brothers, Plant Place, Ramsey County Master Gardeners, Rush Creek Growers, Sargent’s (Red Wing), St. Edward the Confessor Church Plant Sale, Sunnyside Gardens, Thompson Family Farm, Tonkadale, Wagners and countless individuals for donating plants to all these gardens.

Thank you to all our donors! We appreciate how you help us grow, together.
