Last-Minute Gifts for Gardeners

holiday terrariumT’was the week before Christmas, and you still haven’t got a gift for the gardener in your life. Never fear! MSHS has so many choices, available as quick as a click of your computer mouse or as fleet as your fingers on the phone. You can also stop by our shop in Roseville for gifts like gloves, tools, books, hats, cute gardening sweatshirts and many, many more.

Here are some favorites:

  • Tickets to the MSHS Spring at the Inn. This event was so popular last year that we’re doing it twice. The event includes either lunch or dinner at the Lake Elmo Event Center, followed by a “plant fashion show” of the new plants you’ll be seeing in nurseries. Both events take place March 28. Register for the lunch or dinner online or by calling 651-643-3601. (This sold out quickly last year, so book early, if you can. )
  • spring at inn

Bobby Jensen co-hosted the MSHS Spring at the Inn Event in 2012.

Membership in MSHS or a subscription to Northern Gardener. We’re offering $5 off the regular price and if you order by Thursday (Dec. 20), we’ll get the gift card in the mail ahead of the holiday. Call 651-643-3601 to order a gift the gardener will enjoy all year long.

  • The gift of learning. We also offer gift certificates for classes, which run all year long and cover everything from growing vegetables to plant propagation to floral design.
  • Garden in a Box. Here’s a great idea for the teachers or schools in your life. Share your love of gardening by providing a class with a garden in a box. These wooden boxes can be filled with soil and planted with vegetables or flowers. You’ll be amazed how much food can be grown in this 3-by-3 foot garden.
