Gift Ideas for Gardeners, Part 2

A couple of weeks ago, we suggested eight gift ideas for gardeners who have everything. Today, we’ve got a few more, and the best thing is you can get them all during the MSHS Open House this Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our store at 2705 Lincoln Drive in Roseville. (We are in the strip mall just north of the Roseville Lund’s and Byerly’s, right next to the Cellars Wine and Spirits.)

In addition to our own garden gifts, the special open house will include a variety of garden and gift vendors, complimentary coffee, cookies and hot apple cider. So, what do we suggest:

Hot off press higher resGarden Books! We have dozens of great garden titles, many especially aimed at gardeners in the North. Among my favorites in the store are Good Weed, Bad Weed (a great reference guide) and one of the best cookbooks I’ve read in a long time, Amy Thielen’s The Midwestern Table. In addition to these new titles, we have a used gardening book sale, so if you like to reuse and recycle, check out the many excellent books available in the used section.

Gloves and Hats! When we go to the Minnesota State Fair, we sell hundreds of pairs of gardening gloves, because the ones we have really stand up to the kind of wear and tear a working gardener experiences. They have rubberized finger tips and come in several sizes, so you can get the right fit. Or, protect your favorite gardener’s skin from the sun with a good-looking and functional hat.

Edible ArtBird Feeders! These super cute bird feeders were on our Gifts for Gardeners list in 2014. They are still very popular and would make a great gift for the gardening birder (or the birding gardeners) in your life.

Besides these gift ideas for gardeners we also have tools, decorative items and the Minnesota Gardening calendar, a popular photo calendar published by the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.

In addition to the Open House, the MSHS store will be open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dec. 12 and 19.

We hope to see you there!
