Don't Forget MSHS on Give to the Max Day
Two weeks from today is the annual Give to the Max Day in Minnesota.
Since 2009, one Thursday in November has been set aside for people to give to the charitable organizations of their choice. MSHS is proud to be a part of Give to the Max Day and is very grateful for the donations we receive through this online giving concept. (Of course, we also love our donors who send checks via the mail, remember us in their wills or financial planning, and those who support MSHS through volunteering their time and talents.)
We have three ways you can give your gift through the Give to the Max Day website.
The first is to support the overall work of MSHS — Northern Gardener magazine, our classes and educational programs and our work as a voice of horticulture and gardening in Minnesota.
We also have the option for donors to support our outreach work specifically. This includes programs such as Minnesota Green, which assist community gardens around the state with plants and other support.
Finally, we offer the option to support our Garden-in-a-Box program, which provides a growing box, soil, vegetable plants, fencing and information on how to grow a vegetable garden to low-income families. Our goal is to teach youngsters gardening and to encourage healthy eating. This program has been wildly successful, and in the past five years, more than 1,200 families have received growing boxes. The program has now expanded from the Twin Cities to Duluth, Faribault, St. Cloud and Red Wing.
We hope that as you plan your Give to the Max Day contributions you will consider MSHS.
