November/December Northern Gardener Available

The November/December issue of Northern Gardener is on the news stands and in mail boxes, and it’s a really fun issue, full of ideas and advice for enjoying winter gardening and planning for your garden next year.

You can get a head start on your garden design for next year with Susan Davis Price’s article on garden anchors, those structures, ornaments and plants that create focal points in the garden. Susan offers plenty of ideas and images to show you how to use anchors well.

Our cover story is about witch hazels, a plant that Betsy Danielson describes as the Cinderella of the garden—hardworking and very unappreciated. Many witch hazels are hardy to our area and add bloom to the beginning and the end of the season.

Of course, we have our annual Gifts for Gardeners list, and this year’s batch includes some super cute ideas for all the gardeners in your life.
