About Angie
A horticulturist for over 29 years, Angie Koebler has most recently held the Lead Horticulturist position for the University of Minnesota’s College of Biological Sciences Conservatory and Botanical Collection where she partnered with research scientists, professors and graduate students. She has initiated research efforts to preserve a small ball cactus, Escobaria vivipara, one of Minnesota’s rarest plant species, along with the US Fish & Wildlife Service and the MN Department of Natural Resources. Angie’s scientific contributions have been acknowledged in published research papers, including Convergent Evolution Convergent evolution of a blood-red nectar pigment in vertebrate-pollinated flowers in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. A professional horticulturist for over 26 years, Angie is currently a Designer for Landscape Renovations and has most recently held the position of Interim Director for the University of Minnesota’s College of Biological Sciences Conservatory and Botanical Collection. As the former Lead Landscaper for Blooming Saint Paul, she has collaborated with the Ordway Theatre, MPR, the Huss Foundation and Flint Hills Resources. She is a member of the American Society for Horticultural Science and is a licensed member of The Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association and an award-winning floral artist.
