Oregon Perennial Company is a family owned long time producer/wholesaler of premium rootstock for Peonies, Daylilies, and other flowering perennials. This presentation will cover the growing peonies as well as peonies as a cut flower for the florist trade.
Piet was born and raised in the Netherlands and was part owner of a business growing tulips, lilies and iris. In 1986, he accepted an offer to move to Oregon and manage the production of 2000 acres for Oregon Bulb Farms. It was there that he first came in contact and fell in love with peonies. In 1992, he started Oregon Perennial Company with his son, Andre. Much of their crop today consists of peonies, which are grown for bare root division and cut flowers. Oregon Perennial Company provides premium U.S. grown rootstock to cut flower growers, wholesalers, and nurseries located in North America and Europe. Piet is a past president of the Pacific Northwest Peony Society and now on the board of the American Peony Society. He loves collecting peony specimens and has quite the collection in his own garden.
Free and open to the public.
