The event starts at 7 PM\, authors will be reading sections from their work in On An Inland Sea. \nThe thirty-three writers in this collection grapple with the vastness of the lakes—and the vastness of experience living alongside them. Gabriel Bump explores how his relationship with Lake Michigan changed after losing a friend. For another writer\, the water provided the freedom to explore a romance that would have been too complicated on land. Come dive for shipwrecks\, harvest manoomin\, and visit the disappearing ice caves. Witness the chickadees\, smelt\, and cattails\, but also zebra mussels\, factory runoff\, and algae. Each writer’s relationship with the lakes is personal and unique\, but that relationship to the water is also one shared by so many of us.

Volunteers will be there to help. Can’t make the sale? Drop off your plants early on the driveway at 345 10th Ave N. \nUMN Extension Master Gardeners will be on hand at the Sale to answer your questions on plant varieties\, gardening tips\, and how to avoid the spread of jumping worms. \n  \nWe are in need of more plants! Do you have any in your yard we can dig up for you?? \nDig nights are scheduled for May 31\, June 2\, and June 4. We are looking for local community members who have plants and shrubs for us to dig for the sale!  (Dig sites can be from Hopkins\, Minnetonka\, St Louis Park\, and/or other nearby towns!) DESCRIPTION:The St. Anthony Park Garden Club’s annual plant sale will be Saturday\, June 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.\, rain or shine\, the same day as the SAP Art Fair. We will offer for sale a variety of edibles\, perennials\, annuals\, and houseplants as well as misc. garden supplies donated by our members.  \nThe sale is located outside on the north side of the St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church\, at the corner of Como Ave and Luther Place. The sale is a fundraiser for the club’s programs\, which include a scholarship to a U of MN Department of Horticultural Science undergraduate student and maintaining the plantings at the SAP library. We no longer dig plants from members’ gardens due to concerns about jumping worms. \n
