Do you dream about having a beautiful home landscape or have a specific landscape project in mind, but don't know how to get started? This is your opportunity to learn the basic principles of landscape design and avoid the mistakes made by novices and professionals alike. During this four-session workshop, students will have the opportunity to learn about the basic principles of good landscape design and develop a design for their own property by designing an entry, deck or patio garden, or other landscape space.

The workshop will focus on the principles and theory of sustainable landscape design, site analysis, concept and draft design development, and plant selection. Students will also learn how to develop quality bed lines, how to choose and mix and match plants based on function and landscape characteristics, and how to build flexibility into the design process.

Instructors will email students instructions for class preparation including taking a soil sample, completion of a site questionnaire, and information to bring to the first class.
