Summer "Roundup "
As you look outside at your vegetable garden, flower beds, potted plants, and/or latest landscaping project, think of how many moments of joy these plants have brought you. Round them up into a warm, fuzzy ball and give it a squeeze. Feels good, doesn't it? Immensely satisfying. Pass that feeling along to MSHS when you renew your membership or subscription - if you've learned or have been inspired by our work here, "round up" with a gift to MSHS when you send in your dues. $5, $10 or $15-any and every amount will help us continue to grow gardeners and spread that joyfulness that springs from the soil with every plant.
You can give online by clicking HERE or by mailing your check to Minnesota State Horticultural Society, 2705 Lincoln Drive, Roseville, MN 55113.

Gardening Tips
Even if they are passed their prime, continue picking zucchini, cucumbers, snap beans, and other vegetables from your garden. Plants will remain more productive, and there'll be less rotting produce around to attract yellow jackets.
Divide and replant perennials that are overgrown and no longer bloom well. Discard the central part of any clump that's grown woody, then replant the outer portions. There's time for them to reestablish before cold weather arrives, but it's a good idea to mulch them well once the soil freezes.
Come see great flower, fruit, and vegetable displays at the State Fair's Ag/Hort Building!
